11/05/12 The Plymouth School Board will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 6. The meeting is expected to convene between 7:10-7:20 p.m. as it is following a public hearing on the superintendent’s contract. The public hearing is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

New state laws require that a public hearing be held on the superintendents’ contract each year.

Both meetings will be held in the Administration Board Room on Berkley St.

Among other items, the Board will consider the resignation of PHS, FFA Sponsor and Ag Teacher Kelli Kreider. Kreider’s resignation would become effective as of November 9, 2012.

Retirements  being considered include :Mary Kay Houin, Jefferson 1st grade teacher; Geoff Scarberry, Menominee, 4th grade teacher; Kathleen Richter, PHS, English teacher; Donna Chaney, PHS Science teacher; and Joan May, Jefferson, Special Education teacher following the current school year. All retirements, except Richter’s would be effective as of June 30, 2013. Richter’s retirement would be effective on July 31, 2013.

 

During the business transactions portion of the meeting, the Board will consider a “Named” donation for School of Inquiry; report on the Maintenance Department; report on High Ability Program; and report on Title I. Other agenda items include the appointment of a Board member to the Redevelopment Commission; consideration of proposed course changes; and hear new and revised policies and guidelines (1st reading).

The Board will be considering administrative salaries and benefits as well. According to Superintendent Dan Tyree, administrators must be notified before December 31 of the calendar year if their service is being terminated.

Audience participation is limited to comments on agenda items only. The agenda allows for audience questions/comments at the beginning and ending of each meeting.
