02/07/12  On January 10th 2012, at 2:26pm, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department obtained a 9-1-1emergency call in on Freemont Street in Argos.  The call was in reference to a female subject having difficulty breathing.

Argos EMS responded to the scene and requested police assistance.  Officers from the Argos Police Department and Marshall County Police Department responded to the scene and assisted in the emergency.  It was believed that subjects in the residence were allegedly using heroin in the home at the Argos EMS was arriving on scene.

Officers conducted a criminal investigation after consent was obtained at the residence.   Drug paraphernalia along with a substance believed to be a controlled substance was recovered. A criminal case report was generated and forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Formal charges were filed last week on Shirley S. Vires 67, of Argos for possession of a controlled substance, a Class D Felony, maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D Felony and possession of paraphernalia, an infraction.   An arrest warrant was then issued for Shirley Vires.

  Formal charges were also filed on Stephen O. Vires 27, of Argos for possession of a controlled substance, a Class D Felony, maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D Felony, and possession of paraphernalia, an infraction. An arrest warrant was also issued for Stephen O. Vires.

On Wednesday, February 1st, the Argos Police Department along with officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s department went to the residence in the 300 block of Freemont Street in Argos and placed both Shirley Vires and Stephen Vires under arrest and transported them to the Marshall County Jail. The bond for Stephen Vires was set at $1,500 cash while the bond for Shirley Vires was set at $1,000.00 cash.

When Stephen was placed under arrest an item that is believed to be drug paraphernalia was recovered on him. A case report concerning that situation will also be completed and forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Both Shirley and Stephen Vires are scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on March 6th at 8:30am.
