01/18/12 Recorder Marlene Mahler is pleased to announce the recorder’s office is releasing an online subscription service that allows property owners in Marshall County to be notified if there is any recorded document against their property.

According to the FBI, property and mortgage fraud is one of the fastest growing white-collar crimes in the country.  We want to do everything we can to help protect the residents of our county.

Property Fraud Alert (PFA) is an internet-based system that automatically alerts the subscribers, via email or phone, each time there is a recording on their property.  The service and database are an extension of the new computer software the county recorder installed in August 2011 from Fidlar Technologies (a land records company since 1854).

Mahler said, “While Property Fraud Alert does not prevent fraud from happening it will provide an early warning system that will allow our citizens to take appropriate actions.”

The best protection we can offer against property fraud is proactive protection.  Everyone should take advantage of this free service before this crime infects Marshall county.

The website to subscribe FREE OF CHARGE is : www.propertyfraudalert.com or call Fidlar Technologies @ 800-728-3858.
