Former Coach Dave Cox retired from coaching after 20 seasons behind the bench of the Plymouth Girls Basketball program this season.   He was the 15th winning-est active coach in Indiana.

There will be a public Open House Celebration at Plymouth High School this Sunday from 3:00pm-6:00pm in honor of Coach Cox.

Coach Cox initiated a Plymouth indoor / outdoor summer league basketball program in 1993 that grew to over 85 teams and 874 participants across Northern Indiana.

Dave completed his career as the winning-est coach in Plymouth High School girl’s basketball history.

Coach Cox’s varsity record was 308-152, highlighted by four NLC Championships,  nine 3A Sectional Championships,  two 3A Regional Championships,  two 3A Semi-State Championships,  2001 3A State Runner-Up, and 2008 3A State Champions.  Coach Cox was named the ICGSA 3A State Coach of the Year.

Coach Cox’s very first season was in 1992-93 when he finished 4-15.   The following 12-9 season in ’93-’94 lead to 18 straight seasons of double-digit wins until this past year’s 6-15 mark.

Prior to being hired as head girls’ coach at Plymouth High School, Cox spent a combined 6 years in the Triton, Caston and Plymouth feeder systems.
