06/15/12  Registration for the 4th annual Ta Ta Trot Breast Cancer Run/Walk to benefit the Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship is underway. This amazing benefit brings in approximately 300 runners to Plymouth and averages about $5,000.00 to $8,000.00 to fund two scholarships for area students.

Students Evan Glaub and Luke Bumpus both from Plymouth High School have received the scholarships. Glaub has been a volunteer for the Ounce of Prevention from the beginning and has been such a great help with the program in finding ways to raise money in Marshall County. Luke Bumpus was the very first person to contact the Oliver Family asking what he can do to volunteer.  Jennifer Houin says, “I will never forget that phone call, I was shocked that there was someone that actually wanted to help raise money with us and has been a part of our fundraising 100% of the time since then”. Both have received a $1,000.00 renewable/ 4 year scholarships.

The TA TA Trot is a 5K walk or run, 10K and 15K run and will be held on Saturday, June 30th at 9:00am. Registration will begin at 7:00am at Oliver Ford on East Jefferson Street.   To receive a race t-shirt you must be registered by June 18th. You can either register online at www.ounceof prevention.org at Oliver Ford or Overmyer Water.

To be eligible to receive this scholarship they ask that either you have been touched by breast cancer or have volunteered with the Ounce of Prevention, and are a student of one of the Marshall County schools.

This year’s Ta Ta Trot queens will be Donnabelle, Joan and Judy Newberg.
