12/05/12  House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee assignments and leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. State Rep. Tim Harman (R-Bremen) was appointed to three different House committees: Courts & Criminal Code, Government & Regulatory Reform and Local Government.

“It is truly an honor to be appointed to these three committees,” said Rep. Harman. “I am excited to get to work on these issues and assume an active role in serving my district. I look forward to closely examining the issues that come up and finding constructive ways to improve local government.”

Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year. Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.

“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know that they are each eager to begin their committee work and their leadership roles,” said Speaker Bosma.

Rep. Harman (R-Bremen) represents all of Marshall County and a large portion of Fulton County. He serves as a member of the Courts & Criminal Code, Government & Regulatory Reform and Local Government committees.
