“This is a great feeling. Specifically, for our Seniors I feel. They have worked so hard to accomplish this goal and now that they have achieved it….I’m so proud of them.”, said John Barron Head Coach of Plymouth.
Plymouth finished with 403 yards of offense…all rushing.
“I thought our offensive line was huge tonight. They blocked so well. Sam (Stevens) I thought probably ran the hardest he has all season. That’s a deadly combination, a strong offensive line and a physically fast runningback.”, added Barron.
Jacob Frantz had the defensive play of the game getting a 20 yard interception for a “pick 6″ play.
“Frantz has come on strong from midway through the season. As he did on the interception, he read his key which allowed him to jump the route. That was just a great play.”, added Barron.
Injuries have been a stumbling block for the Rockies recently. Last night, another one when sophomore quarterback Kyle Lacefield got injured in the first quarter. It lead to Ike Kastner returning to the starting line-up and finish a drive that to a Rockie touchdown late in the first quarter. After that touchdown, Plymouth switched to their #3 back-up freshman quarterback Jack Barron.
By nights end, Barron didn’t throw a pass but finished with 55 yards rushing on 13 carries. He was responsible for leading four scores by the end of game.
With the win, the Rockies finish the Regular Season with a 7-2 record overall (5-1 vs NLC). They face Northwood at Andrews Field in game one of the IHSAA Football Sectionals. WTCA Pre-Game will be around 5:45pm.
