02/28/12 The City of Plymouth will have a new Fire Chief next month.

During the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting Monday evening Mayor Mark Senter introduced Rod Miller as his new Chief, replacing Andy Metsker who served under Senter during nearly his entire first term as Mayor.  Metsker resigned to take a job with Gibson Insurance.  During the interim, former Chief, George Cook has filled the position.

Rod Miller is a 22 year veteran with the Fire Department, being hired on by Mayor Satorius and serving under former Fire Chief Wayne Smith.

Monday evening Miller said that he hadn’t anticipated Metsker’s retirement for many more years but when the opportunity presented itself he talked with his family and decided to apply for the position.
