12/26/12 Jennifer Houin, President of the Riverside Intermediate School PTO was able to talk Santa into an early visit to Plymouth last Thursday.  Santa arrived in the afternoon and visited the children in all the 5th and 6th grade classrooms prior to their Christmas vacation.

Santa also brought homemade peanut brittle to each of the teachers and staff members and Santa’s helpers passed out miniature candy canes to each child.

There were mixed reactions in each classroom.  Sometimes Santa’s HO HO HO seemed to stun the kids and the set silently watching the big guy and other times the kids were all smiles and giggles.

The Plymouth Kiwanis made a long distance call to the North Pole and convinced Santa to visit the Plymouth Boys and Girls Club on Friday. Kiwanis members donated a large amount of candy so Santa had 100 bags of candy to pass out to kids at the club.  The kids were happy to see old St. Nick as well as enjoy the start of their Christmas vacation.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. The Plymouth Kiwanis meet each Tuesday at noon at Christo’s Banquet Center in Plymouth and interested people and/or potential new members are always welcome.
