04/04/12 The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will close State Road 23, between County Road 1000 East and County Road 825 North, beginning Monday, April 9th. State Road 23 will be closed 800 feet north and south of the new Koontz Lake Dam worksite. Crews will construct a new roadway and bridge. The road is expected to reopen in early July, weather permitting.

A detour will take northbound traffic west on U.S. 30, north on U.S. 35, east on U.S. 6, and back to State Road 23, north of Koontz Lake. Southbound traffic will travel west on U.S. 6, south on U.S. 35, east on U.S. 30, and back to State Road 23, south of Koontz Lake.
