08/03/12 Thursday afternoon about 2:20 emergency responders were dispatched to the alley behind the Encore Consignment Shop for a suspected gas leak.
Plymouth Police were the first to arrive immediately followed by the Plymouth Fire Department. What they found was a small gas leak but not your typical leak. Apparently someone backed into the gas meter located in the alley and broke the glass lens cover.
Emergency responders found a very small leak and were able to shut off the gas at the meter without any issue.
Once the leak was stopped they were released and did not have to wait for NIPSCO to arrive and repair the problem.
