01/19/12The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Marshall and surrounding counties. Snow will continue with accumulations of 1 to 2 inches this afternoon before tapering off. Gusty west winds up to 20 -25 mph will also continue to produce some blowing and drifting resulting in hazardous travel conditions. In addition to the snow and winds, temperatures will drop sharply with wind chills near zero degrees. With the cold air will come the continued potential of slippery roads into the late afternoon hours. Those traveling should allow for extra time to reach their destinations. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department would like to remind everyone to drive carefully and allow for the poor driving conditions.
