11/05/12 The second grade students at Triton Elementary School had their annual Spider Beauty Contest on Thursday, October 25.  After a study of insects and spiders, the children went exploring at home to see what kind of spider they could find.  Each child brought in their contestant.  The children then voted on the most beautiful, awesome spider.

Pictured on the WTCA website are the three winners: Layla Gervais with Silver, Chase King with Rex, and Olivia Shively with Blackie.

Donna Burroughs, Superintendent of Triton Schools said, “We celebrated by making spider cookies.  We learned a lot, overcame some fears, and had a great time seeing the spiders up close.”
