01/09/12 On Tuesday, January 10th, Stakeholders of the Heston-Stock Ditch headwaters Watershed will have an opportunity to learn about the Heston-Stock Ditch Headwaters Watershed, sign up to receive future information about the Watershed and volunteer to participate in either future water quality monitoring and or to become a member of the Heston-Stock Watershed task Force.

A “Stakeholder” is any person who lives, works or plays in a watershed.  Since 2010 the Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG) has been conducting water monitoring in the watershed that comprises the ditch network in and through Lakeville and LaPaz and also includes Pleasant, Riddles and Fites Lakes.  The culmination of the monitoring along with land-use evaluations in the Watershed has been included in the goals and objections of the Watershed Management Plan.

The Stakeholders’ meeting hosted by MACOG will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Lakeville Conservation Club and will last until 8 p.m.
