05/30/12 The inmate that escaped from the recreation yard at the Starke County Jail on May 23rd turned himself in to the jail on Sunday, May 27th just before 1 p.m..

30 year old Joshua Hunnicutt of Winamac told officers that he realized he would eventually be caught.  He also said he had made a bad decision.  Hunnicutt claims he has no recollection about what took place prior to his escape.

Originally held on an outstanding warrant for maintaining a common nuisance and possession of meth, Hunnicutt now faces a preliminary charge of escape which will be added to his previous charges and could face additional charges once the Starke County Prosecutor reviews the case.

There has been no word on his suspected accomplice, 35year old Rachel Berdine who was believed to have picked him up after his escape.
