08/14/12 Mike Essling, Railroad and Utility Engineer with INDOT released information on a closing of State Road 8 for railroad improvements.

The Norfolk and Southern Rail Road is proposing to close the railroad crossing on State Road 8 approximately 1.7 miles east of Knox from August 27^th at  8 AM  and lasting until  September 10^th at 7 PM.

The detour is to use US 35 to US 30 to SR 23 and reverse.

This road closure will affect all emergency services, school corporations and general public traveling on State Road 8.
