08/03/12  On Wednesday, August 1st at approximately 2:15am, Patrolman Nicholas Laffoon of the Marshall County Police Department performed a traffic stop on a vehicle at US 30 east near Elm Road for an equipment violation. During the traffic stop it was found that the driver, Wendell A. Cordell Jr. 51, of McDonald, Tennessee was driving on a suspended license. During the investigation it was also found that Mr. Cordell was in possession of a loaded .45 caliber handgun without a gun permit, and a small amount of suspected marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Cordell was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in for carrying a handgun without a license and possession of marijuana and given a $4,500.00 cash bond.  Cordell is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court II on August 14th at 8:30am.
