06/16/12 Citizens wanting to vote in the 2012 Primary Election and who are not already registered voters only have until April 9, 2012 to register. Registration for any election ends twenty-nine days before the actual Election Day. This year, the primary Election Day is May 8.

As there was some redistricting due to population shifts and other considerations, voters are encouraged to read information received from the Marshall County Voter Registration /Marshall County Clerk’s Office or call to verify where they will be voting.

Voter registration will reopen on May 22, 2012 for the November 6 General Election. The deadline for registration for the General Election will be on October 9.

On March 20, the Marshall County Election Board will be performing a test of the voting equipment for the county. The test will be held at the Marshall County Clerk’s Office at 9:00 a.m. following the regular Election Board meeting. Both the meeting and test are open to the public. All testing must be completed prior to absentee ballots being distributed.

Following is the information published by the Marshall County Election Board: “Testing will be the automatic tabulating equipment to be used in the Marshall County for the counting of ballot cards and tabulating of machine votes cast for all candidates in the next primary election to ascertain that the machines will correctly count the votes cast for all candidates and on all public questions.”
