Traffic Stop on Impaired Driver Leads to Arrest of Suspected Heroin Dealers

05/22/12 With the assistance of multiple local police agencies, and the watchful eye of a local citizen two suspected heroin dealers were apprehended Saturday night.

About 11:30 Saturday night a concerned citizen contacted the Marshall County Dispatch Center and reported a possible impaired driver who was heading east on US 30 approaching Plymouth.  With the quick reaction of the dispatchers, officers from Marshall County, Plymouth Police and Indiana State Police Troopers were able to locate the vehicle exiting US 30 onto Michigan Road in Plymouth.  Officers witnessed traffic violations and initiated a traffic stop in the Speedway parking lot on North Michigan Street.

   During the investigation is was determined that the driver, 22 year old Robert Bollan of Wabash was arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a prior charge and Dealing a Scheduled I Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a housing complex.

  A passenger in the vehicle, 22 year old Cody Allard of Largo, IN was also charged with Dealing with 1,000 feet of a housing complex.  Both were booked into the Marshall County Jail.

   A probable cause affidavit was signed by a judge Saturday night setting both subjects bonds at $100,000 each.  A report is being sent to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office for formal charges.

These arrests are attributed to the quick reaction between the caller, dispatchers, and officers involved.
