11/14/12 Veterans were invited to celebrate Veteran’s Day at Miller’s Senior Living Community on Friday, November 9th.  Miller’s likes to celebrate a day or two early so veterans may then take part in other celebrations and services around the Plymouth area.  Marketing Director Anna Corbett sends out an invitation to all veterans inviting them to a free luncheon buffet followed by entertainment in the Main Lobby.

This year approximately 25 guests took part in honoring our veterans.  Miller’s was honored to have veterans of all branches of the military in attendance.  American Legion Post 27 Commander Julian Kizer present Corbett with a new American flag for the facility.  Residents were particularly pleased to visit with Jim DeWitt of Culver who served our country at Pearl Harbor.

Following the presentation of the American flag residents and guests enjoyed a concert by Jerry Holcomb of Anderson, IN. and his brother Orville of Lowell, In.  The Holcomb men come from a large family where music played an important part.   The brothers each played guitar and sang country, gospel and soft rock songs.  They devoted a large portion of their concert to patriotic tunes such as “America”, “This Land Is Your Land”, “Dixie” and more.
