11/30/12 Culver Police Chief Wayne Beam released the names of the victims of Wednesday’s shooting in Culver. Stephen Suthard, 16, and Michael Price, 44, both of Culver were found dead inside Price’s Culver from gunshot wounds.
The incident happened at 419 Madison Street Wednesday night. 9-1-1 was called about 10:40 after Price’s wife came home and found her husband and the teen, a close family friend dead.
Culver Police, with assistance from Marshall County Detectives and Indiana State Police are trying to figure out how the incident happened and say they are not ruling anything out at this point.
A gun was found inside the home with one of the deceased but it is not clear which one. Police also found a long gun in the trunk of a car parked.
Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger said the autopsies are scheduled on Monday. Investigators are not indicating whether the incident is a double murder or murder suicide until they get more answers from the autopsy reports. The victims were not related, but were close family friends.
Stephen Suthard was a sophomore at Culver Community High School. Grief counselors were at the school on Thursday for students. Many of Suthard’s friends are joining a Facebook memorial page and sharing their memories of him.
