The Lady Chargers volleyball team finished the season with a 20-16 record and a nice showing at the Region Tournament. It has been several years since the Lady Chargers qualified for post-season play.
Coach Lana Singleton exclaimed, “It was a nice honor to qualify for the region tournament, It was great competition and I felt the girls hung in there and battled.”
Ancilla lost to #2 seed Sinclair 18-25, 19-25, 22-25 in the opening round. They then knocked off Jackson CC (seeded above them) 16-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-16 before losing to #4 seed Vincennes University 11-25, 18-25, 25-21, 23-25.
Jess Moore (Walkerton, IN) had an outstanding showing at the Region Tournament with 36 kills in the 3 matches and had a hitting efficiency just over 40%. Kristen Trudell (Horton, MI) dished out 72 assists and added 5 aces and Keri Friend (Rossville, IN) led the defense with 63 digs.
