04/03/12 The Plymouth Speedway was abuzz with activity this weekend, thanks to the cooperation of Mother Nature.

A track work day was held Saturday in which nearly 30 people showed to help pitch in and prepare the track for the upcoming season.

Sunday, several spectators watched four hours of practice, with more cars than expected taking laps on the track. Some showed their support for the day in attendance without their cars being ready, but those who did take part said the new Bullring dirt track inside the oval caused no issue for the asphalt drivers. Many also registered their cars Sunday in an effort to save time on opening night, set for Friday, April 27.

The first race of the season will be the CRA Cabin Fever race for Late Model Sportsman, Street Stocks and Hornets on April 14 and 15. The following weekend, April 21 and 22, will be the CRA JEGS Late Models, Street Stocks and Hornets.
