County Council Meeting Monday Morning

January 13, 2013

  01/14/13 The Marshall County Council will meet for their first meeting of the new year.  There are two new members to the council, Steve Harper and Jon VanVactor.  The first order of business is the reorganization with the election of officers, selection of the MACOG representative and Liaison assignments.

Agenda for the County Council meeting includes the request of Treasurer Deb VanDeMark to fill a vacancy in her office and the introduction of newly hired CASA Director Haley Kittrell.

The Marshall County Council will consider several additional appropriation requests including one from the Sheriff for $110,196 from the CAGIT Certified Shares to purchase vehicles for his department.  The Prosecutor is seeking approval to use $8,000 of pre-trial diversion funds to compensate the deputy prosecutor’s wage and WIC needs $405 appropriated from their grant for travel and mileage.   Another request is for $3,000 to purchase computer equipment for the Sex Offender Registry program and the Historical Society is seeking $30,000 from their special fund to allow for the hiring of part-time museum employees.

County Auditor Penny Lukenbill will seek a couple of transfer requests for the 2012 and 2013 budgets.  She will also present the December meeting minutes for consideration and a salary amendment for the PTABOA board along with the 2013 Sheriff’s Contract.

The Marshall County Council meeting is open to the public but comments are limited to agenda items and only at the beginning of the meeting.
