04/26/13 On Wednesday April 24th, Marshall County Sheriff Thomas Chamberlin officially announced the implementation of the S.T.E.P.S. Program. The acronym-standing for “Starting toward an Early Path of Sobriety,” a program targeted at addiction.The program will begin with a small number of female inmates (due to the gender of the person performing the meetings), and will hopefully grow larger in the future, and allow for male inmates as well.
The S.T.E.P.S. Program will be led by Mrs. Amanda Enyart (Noble), who has agreed to donate her time to further this cause. Mrs. Enyart is a recovering addict herself, and leads local meetings for Narcotics Anonymous. She speaks to audiences throughout the state, and is a very driven individual, who is determined to help in any way she can.
The meetings will be conducted via secure webcam, to reduce security risks for the jail and to ensure the safety of Mrs. Enyart. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department thanks her for her time and dedication.
The program is scheduled to begin in the very near future.
