T-SHIRT DEADLINE FOR TA-TA TROT IS THIS FRIDAY

June 11, 2013

06/12/13 If you’re participating in the Ounce of Prevention Ta-Ta Trot on June 29th and want to be sporting this year’s t-shirt, you must register by Friday, June 14th to receive the t-shirt.

You can register online at http://www.plymouthounceofprevention.org/2013tatatrot.html any time up until the race, but if you want the t-shirt, you need to register before Friday, June 14th.

The Ta-Ta Trot it just one of the events the Plymouth Ounce of Prevention organization sponsors to raise funds for and awareness about breast cancer in Marshall County.  This is the fifth year for the run/walk which was organized as a tribute to Nancy Jaynes, a teacher from Plymouth who lost her battle with breast cancer.

Several area organizations step up to help Ounce of Prevention, including the  “Pretty In Pink” volunteers, Ancilla College, Hello Gorgeous, FOP #195, Dennie Graphics and more.  The TaTaTrot efforts are also being enhanced this year by the PHS Football Team, the Plymouth Fire Department and Ambulance and the PHS cheer block, who will be helping with the water stops and registration.

Besides the run/walk competition, the event will also include the crowning of this year’s TaTa Trot Queen, Mrs. Charlotte Stone, as well as the presentation of checks to various recipients of the funds raised at this and other Ounce of Prevention events.

Jennifer Houin and Jessica Oliver founded Plymouth Ounce of Prevention, a non-profit organization, in 2003 after breast cancer had claimed two of their grandmothers and touched many other friends and family members. Its purpose is to raise awareness of proactive prevention practices and to provide support for those battling cancer in Marshall County.

The second big fundraiser for 2013 ~ the MargariTATAville Party ~ is scheduled for October 5th at Young’s Amphitheater in Plymouth.  More information can be found at www.PlymouthOunceOfPrevention.org
