10/01/13 Kori Ann Donovan, former owner of A.C.T. (Advanced Care Transport) was sentenced in Federal Court on Monday for submitting false billing to Medicaid over a four and a half year period.
In court evidence showed that A.C.T. routinely inflated the distance of ambulance runs as a way to overcharge the government for the services provided by the company. Documents showed more than 37,000 inflated bills had been submitted with a net total of close to $3.8 million.
On Monday Donovan was sentenced to nine years in prison and ordered to pay restitution.
