05/03/13   Mark J. Faulstich was promoted from Major to Lieutenant Colonel, United States Air Force on February 28th, 2013 at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.  The presiding officer for the ceremony was Colonel Samuel H. Epperson, Jr. Commander, National Security Space Institute.

Mark grew up in Plymouth and attended St. Michael’s Elementary School, Lincoln Junior High, and Plymouth High School.  After graduating from Plymouth High School in 1994, he was accepted to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO and graduated in May of 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Space Operation.

In 2004 he received a Master of Science in Space Operations from the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. 

Faulstich has also been stationed at several other locations throughout his Air Force career, including Patrick Air Force Base and Cape Canaveral, FL, Schriever Air Force Base, CO; Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, CO ; and Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA. 

  Mark J. and his wife, Kara, have two daughters, Sydney and Carissa.  They will be moving to Florida this summer where Mark will once again be stationed at Patrick Air Force Base and Cape Canaveral.

Mark’s parents are Mark and Joyce Faulstich of Plymouth, Indiana.  His brothers are James, Jason and Jeffery Faulstich.
