05/08/13 A Plymouth woman was killed in a single vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Lincoln Highway, just west of Shady Rest.

The initial call came into the Marshall County Dispatch Center at 3:39 p.m. and sent emergency responders from the Sheriff’s Department and Plymouth Fire Department to the scene.

A four door sedan was traveling west bound and for an unknown reason crossed the eastbound travel lane and down a slight embankment and head on into a tree.  23 year old Amber Gayheart of Plymouth died in the crash.  Marshall County Deputy Coroners Lisa Richards and John Grolich are working the case.  Gayheart died instantaneously from multiple blunt force traumas.

County Officer Jonathon Bryant said speed was a factor in the crash.

Traffic on Lincoln Highway was blocked for several hours at King Road and 10th Road while emergency responders extricated Gayheart from the wreckage and Ran’s Towing cleaned up the scene and removed the vehicle.
