02/05/13 The Plymouth Rockies Wrestling Team competed at the Rochester Regional Tournament on Saturday.
Head Coach Bob Read said, “We lost so many close matches, a lot of i-point and 2-point losses.” He continued, “When you get to this level, you have to win those. That’s where you get into the mental aspect of things.”
Coach Read will be taking three PHS wrestlers to the Semi-State Tournament next Saturday at Merrillville. Wrestlers from the Calumet, Crown Point, and Logansport Regionals as well as the Rochester Regional feed into this tourney.
Plymouth wrestlers advancing to the Semi-State include:
106 pound Cody Allmon who wrestled back for a third place finish,
126 pound Kam Markovich who wrestled back for a fourth place finish, and
285 pound Drew Dodson who also wrestled back for a fourth place finish. (The top four in each weight class advance)
