05/30/13  A Courtney Demont Benefit 5K run orchestrated by Kelsie Hollabaugh and Shelby Sanders will be held on Saturday, June 8th at Argos High School.  Demont was seriously injured in a single vehicle traffic accident on Kenilworth Road on April 18th.  She was not expected to live but with God’s helping hands Courtney has made a miraculous recovery.  Out of the intensive care unit, Courtney is now undergoing extensive therapy at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Cost to participate in the 5K is $25 with all proceeds going to Courtney Demont and her family.  All participants will receive a wristband that says, “We Run For One” on one side and Defy-K on the other-side. There will also be t-shirts available to purchase that say, “Today We Run For One, June 8th, 2013” on the front and “Defying The Odds Together, One Step at a Time” on the back.  There is a separate cost of $15 for the t-shirts, they are not included in the registration cost of $25. T-shirts ordered before June 3rd will be available at the race that morning.

Registration is on the day of the race from 6:45 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. with the race to begin at 8.  That morning they will be accepting more orders for t-shirts, selling headbands and taking donations.  For more information you may visit hppts://sites.google.com/a/valpo.edu/courtney-s-5k/home.
