11/12/13 In 5th Grade Boys “A” basketball action last night, the Riverside Rockets traveled to Triton and defeated a tough Triton team 35-14.  First game nerves showed the first half, as Riverside went into the locker room with a 15- 8 lead.  The Rockets came out strong in the second half with great tenacity on defense.  Leading the way for the Rockets was Jake Reichard with 22 points.  Jaret Brown, Daniel Bacon, Matthew Dobuck, Owen Yoder, Ivan Winkle, and Owen Bockman all added 2 points, with Hayden Hopple adding 1.  Drew Harrell earned defensive player of the game with great help defense and stopping his opponent.  Next Riverside game is at home on Thursday at 4:30 vs. Walkerton.

In B team action, the Rockets started strong and never looked back.  Great defense was once again played by the Rockets, with 3 quick steals and starting the game 6-0.  Matthew Janus lead the team with 12 points, Collin Mills had 6, Carlos Luva had 4, and Grant Witmer, Donny Poczik, and Teddy Pratt all chipped in 2. Kyle Johnson was defensive player of the game with his hustle and effort diving for balls. The B team will also host Walkerton on Thursday, following the A game.  Come on out and support the boys!
