The Recycle Depot in Plymouth is offering FREE (up to 100 pounds) confidential document shredding and recycling to all Marshall County residents and businesses.  The Greatful Shred event is scheduled for this Saturday, December 7th from 8 a.m. to noon.

The first 100 pounds of document shredding is free and additional documents will be shredded at $0.15 per pound.  The Marshall County Solid Waste District Management office urge residents to bring any documents with their name, address, account numbers or other personal information to be shredded.  Examples include the following:

·      Bank, credit card and investment account statements

·      Cancelled checks

·      Credit card solicitations

·      Utility and other bills

·      Anything with your personal health or financial information

Your confidential documents will be shredded on site into small confetti size pieces rendering them illegible.  The paper confetti will ultimately be mixed with water, blended to slurry and made into new post-consumer recycled fiber products.  Over eleven tons of confidential documents were shredded and recycled at last years’ event.

Identity theft is the fastest growing form of fraud, and has become an epidemic in many communities.  Help law enforcement fight crime, reduce your risk of identity theft while conserving natural resources at the same time.  Don’t miss this opportunity to have your unwanted, but sensitive documents professionally destroyed.  For questions, please call the Recycle Depot at 935-8618.
