12/11/13 The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety accepted the recommendation of Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt to accept the fixed bid rate from North Central Coop for the city’s 2014 fuel supplies. Marquardt said the city has used the fixed rate the past two years with success, saving an average of 10 to 12 cents a gallon. He will watch pricing for the next several days before making the commitment for next year.
The Board of Public Works and Safety also accepted the bids for 2014 street material from IMI Materials and Stockberger Inc. the Street Superintendent said being able to purchase from either one company will give him additional options.
The Board also ratified the low quote award of Oliver Ford Lincoln for a ¾ ton F- 250 Crew-Cab for the Street Department.
In other business the write-off of $182,264.17 of delinquent and uncollectible EMS bills were approved by resolution. Clerk Treasurer Toni Hutchings explained that the amount written off was 35% of the total billing and about half of it is from Medicare and Medicaid assignment.
The Board also approved change order #1 for the Bauer parking lot. The change order is a deduct for #2 and #53 gravel, a change in the electrical service panel and an addition for the building permit making the total deduct of $2,800. Original cost for the renovation work of the parking lot was $108,150. The total project cost came in at $105,350.
