12/06/13 This holiday season, 16 children in need will be spared a Christmas with no presents. They will have the Ancilla College community to thank for that.
Ancilla College held its annual “Angel Tree” collection. Each year the focus is a toy collection for children of low-income students at the Donaldson-based campus. The Ancilla College community has such a giving spirit, that within two days of the start of this year’s Angel Tree activity, every child was accounted for.
“It is a blessing to help others, especially at Christmas,” said MaryAnn Rush, coordinator of the Angel Tree project this year. “I am extremely grateful to everyone that participated and made this Christmas a little brighter for all of the kids involved.”
The 16 children were able to list three wishes for Christmas. Those wishes were put on the back of a card with their name and hung on the angel tree in the College’s front lobby. Those looking to donate were able to select a child and grant one of their toy “wishes”.
