09/27/13 The public is invited to join Rev. Dr. Sam Boys, Associate Professor of Philosophy and Religion at Ancilla College, as he discusses Mindfulness for Beginners by Jon Kabat-Zinn.  This event will take place on Tuesday, October 1, from 7-8 p.m. at Earthworks Market located at 900 W. Jefferson St. in Plymouth.

In his presentation, Boys will facilitate a discussion about the many aspects of the practice of mindfulness. The book explores ways to transform our relationship to the way we think, feel, love, work, and play – and thereby awaken to and embody more completely who we really are. The author, Jon Kabat-Zinn, provides insights and instruction to help us make the shift, moment by moment, to a more aware, spacious, and loving connection with ourselves and the world.

This evening will also include some practices and exercises to help us cultivate our awareness of present-moment direct experience.

“Coffee and a Book” is a cultural series co-sponsored by the Ancilla College Humanities Division and Earthworks.

Ancilla College (www.ancilla.edu) is a Catholic, liberal arts, Associate’s Degree college in Donaldson, Indiana, sponsored by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ.
