01/15/13 The committee for One Book/One Town announced this year’s book selection, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer.  The book discussion, sponsored by the Friends of the Plymouth Public Library will be held at the library on Sunday, March 17th at 2 p.m.  This book is a powerful personal narrative of a young African boy who survives drought, hunger, and lack of education by learning about windmills in the small donated library of his remote village. The story details how implementing his vision of building his own windmill changed his life and the lives of his family and community.

The Friends of the Library have purchased 10 copies of the book that are now available to check out or reserve.

Notre Dame is bringing the author, William Kamkwamba, to speak at the Notre Dame Conference Center, McKenna Hall on Monday, March 18 at 7:00 p.m.   A book signing and reception will follow the presentation. This event is free and open to the public.

You can also arrange for a book review presentation for your service club, book club, or church group by contacting the library. Let’s get reading, Marshall County!
