April 2013 Jail Stats

  05/10/13 Marshall County Sheriff Tom Chamberlin released the April Jail Stats.

There were 140 bookings into the Marshall County Jail last month. 83 men and 49 women were book from the various departments with the Sheriff’s Officers arresting 45 of the males and 16 of the females.  The differences were 8 individuals who were lodged in the jail directly through the courts. 

The top ten offenses for people being booked into the County Jail in April were: #10.  Cocaine/Meth,  #9. Public Intox,  #8. Probation Violations,  #7. Driving While Suspended,  #6. Marijuana, and  #5. Domestic Battery.   The Top four reasons people were lodged in the county jail include: #4.  Operator Never Licensed, #3.  Operating While Intoxicated, #2.  Failure to Appear and  #1.  Theft. 

Marshall County Police Officers investigated 51 traffic accidents with 42 being property damage, 8 involving personal injury and 1 being a fatality. 

96 case reports were taken in April and 94 citations were written.  804 civil process papers were received at the Sheriff’s Department and 603 were served last month.
