05/13/13 The Argos School Board will hold a special meeting on Monday, May 13 to officially hire a new superintendent. Julie Lauck will begin her duties starting July 1. The meeting will begin at 7:00 P.M. in the Administration Offices.
Lauck comes to the Argos Schools with a wide background in education. Currently she serves as the Director of Education Midwest Region of Charter Schools USA. She has been with the organization since May, 2012. Her responsibilities with them include overseeing three turnaround schools in Indianapolis, IN and four turnaround schools in Chicago, IL.
Lauck said, “The position has offered me an opportunity to work closely with turnaround schools as well as charter schools thus providing me a unique insight into what choices are available.” She added, “This position also offers me the opportunity to engage in political aspects of education from a variety of community aspects.”
Prior to her current positions, she served as a Choice Scholarship Liaison with the Indiana Non-Public Education Association /DOE ;Interim Superintendent at Union-North United School Corporation, Superintendent of Logansport Community School Corporation.; and Assistant Superintendent at New Prairie United School Corporation. Additionally, she held positions as a principal, assistant principal and teacher beginning in 1993.
Lauck holds a Specialist in Education Degree from Ball State University; Masters Degree from Indiana University South Bend; and Bachelors Degree from Indiana University South Bend. Her area of teaching was in Secondary Education / English 5-12.
