06/12/13 Heartland Artists, MoonTree Studios and the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to present an Art Show for this month’s 2nd Friday event. The Artists will be in front of various businesses downtown and will be making art and selling art. There will be a variety of art from Pottist, Enameling, Oil Painting, Acrylic Painting, Colored Pencils, Water Colors, Collage Artist, Jewelry Making, Pastel Drawing, Feltist, Photography, and more!
In addition there will be a Draw Your Dad Contest or favorite male. Children can begin entering the drawing contest at noon in front of Heartland Artists on West LaPorte Street. Age groups for the contest are 5-10 and 11-17. The contest will run until judged at 7 p.m. by Linda Rippy from the Marshall County Museum and Susie Reinholt from the Plymouth Public Library. The two winners will each receive $20 in chamber bucks.
Marshall County Museum will also be participating in 2nd Friday by selling gourds, and Jim Schoonover will be drawing caricatures. Schoonover’s notecards and playing cards with his design of local locations will also be on sale.
The Museum and Harriet’s Closet will be providing sidewalk chalk art for the children. Cliff Berger will be playing the piano before the showing of a one hour video on Heirloom Roses. Downtown retailers will have specials from noon till 8 p.m. and the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce will be handing out free popcorn from noon until their supply last!
