10/03/13  The Auto Park Service Center will hold a “Donation Oil Change” to fight domestic violence this Saturday, October 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Auto Park Service Centers located at 201 Airport Road in Plymouth as well as their location at 1845 West Jefferson Street.  All proceeds will benefit the Heminger House Shelter for Women and Children. 

A minimum donation of $15.00 will be accepted for a basic oil change and a $40.00 minimum donation will be accepted for a diesel oil change.

The Heminger House is a safe shelter for women and children who have become victims of abuse and violence.  The Heminger House has helped 700 women and children and is run solely by donations. 

There is always a need of items at the Heminger House.  Currently items needed include paper products such as toilet paper, paper towels, napkins and paper plates.    Household items needed include light bulbs (60 watts), 39 gallon trash bags, batteries and dishwasher tablet, and household cleaning supplies.   The Heminger House is always in need of fresh meats, milk, eggs, butter, bread, cheese, fruits and vegetables.  These items can be dropped off at the Donation Oil Change this Saturday at the Auto Park or you can call Heminger House at 936-SAFE or 936-7233 before dropping off a donation.
