05/24/1 On Wednesday, May 22nda home owned by Dr. Jeff and Dr. Jan Anthony Starr at 16598 Pretty Lake Road in Plymouth caught fire. Firefighters from Plymouth, Argos, Culver, Polk Township, and LaPaz fought the blaze for more than an hour trying to get it under control.
The Plymouth Fire Department, Indiana State Fire Marshall’s office and the Bureau of ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) completed an investigation of the fire on Wednesday and Thursday. The conclusion of the investigation revealed the origin of the fire was in the basement storage room. Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be electrical.
The residence was unoccupied at the time of the incident due to the fact that the family was out of the country on vacation and there was no loss of life in the fire.
The monetary value loss of the home and the building contents is estimated at $1.1 million.
