The Plymouth Airport was a buzz Monday evening as AlphaFlight hosted an open house to introduce a new flight school.
Plymouth High School in partnership with the City of Plymouth and AlphaFlight are launching the Aviation program for the 2019-2020 school year.
The Career Technical Education (CTE) program will be offered to juniors and seniors who are part of the North Central Area Vocational Cooperative (NCAVC), which include Plymouth, Triton, Union-North United, John Glenn, Knox, Triton, Rochester, Culver, Oregon-Davis, North Judson-San Pierre, and Argos. Students from other schools are welcome to enroll if space is available.
The program will give students a look at aviation and flight operations. They will have the opportunity to have 5 hours of flight time and additional ride along time plus time in a simulator.
The high school program will begin next school year.
AlphaFlight will also be offering ground school to adults interested in learning to fly.
