05/17/13Tickets are now available for Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center’s (SJRMC) 16th Annual Catch the SpiritGala, which will be held on Friday, June 14, at the Swan Lake Golf Resort in Plymouth.
This year’s Gala will honor long-time resident and business owner, John J. Oliver, with the Community Spirit Award. The Community Spirit Award is given to Marshall County residents who exemplify the spirit of SJRMC: passionate giving, enthusiastic service and compassionate care.
After emigrating from Newcastle, England to the United States in 1962 at the age of 18, John began working in the manufacturing industry out west. He eventually made his way to northern Indiana, and his hard work landed him the top spot at US Granules Corporation in Plymouth. He quickly embraced all aspects of being a business man in Marshall County, which continues to this day. His numerous awards and community contributions prove that he embodies the spirit of what makes this town a wonderful place to live and work. We are pleased to honor John with the Community Spirit Award and recognize all that he has done for SJRMC and this community.
Proceeds from the Gala will benefit the Saint Joseph Health Center in downtown Plymouth, which provides critical health services to patients who have no access to health insurance. Funds will also go towards capital improvements for the SJRMC Plymouth Campus.
