The 27th Amendment is clear: "No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened." In other words, a pay change cannot take effect until the start of the next set of terms of office for Representatives. Hopefully, Congresswoman Walorski will discover the 27th Amendment of the Constitution and point this out in the next GOP house caucus meeting...
