03/11/13 The Marshall County Council on Aging is hosting the AARP Driver Safety Program at the Life Enrichment Center on Thursday, March 21, 2013. The class will be held from 9:00 am – 1:00 p.m. Although the program is geared towards drivers over 50, all ages of drivers are encouraged to attend. In this course, you will learn:
- Defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road
- How to deal with aggressive drivers
- How to handle problem situations such as left turns, right-of-way, interstate highway traffic, trucks, and blind spots
- How to safely use anti-lock brakes, air bags, and safety belts.
In addition, completing the program qualifies drivers for discounts with many auto insurance carriers. The cost of the AARP Driver Safety Program is $ 12 for members (with card), and $14 for non-members. Class size is limited to the first 35 people.
