08/12/13 Members of the Marshall County Council will meet Monday morning at 9 a.m. in the second floor meeting room of the County Building. 

The agenda for the meeting includes personnel replacement requests of Prosecutor David Holmes for a Deputy Prosecutor and Sheriff Chamberlin for a Head Cook and a Turnkey/Dispatcher. 

Council member will have to consider several additional appropriation requests.  Sheriff Chamberlin will request $80,000 for prisoner meals from either the general fund or the special Jail CAGIT.  County Coroner, Bill Cleavenger is seeking an additional $25,000 for autopsy expenses and $4,000 for toxicology.  The Veterans Service Officer needs $500 for office supplies and $700 for travel expenses while $1,200 is being asked for the Sales Disclosure Fund.  Other requests for additional appropriations include the Highway Department for $7,000 in the unemployment Compensation fund and the Health Department is asking for $13,469 for the Health Educator, $1,031 for Social Security and $18,280 for office equipment. Drug Free Community is asking to appropriate $3,500 for prevention and education while the Clerk is asking to appropriate $1,000 of the 4-D money for office supplies.

About 9:30 Museum Director Linda Rippy will review her 2014 budget request and Donna Vela from the Marshall County Housing Authority will discuss joining the consortium and seek a funding request. 

Also on the agenda is Auditor’s Report with personnel committee recommendations and a discussion of the 2014 budget matters. 

The County Council meeting is open to the public but input and questions are only allowed at the beginning of the meeting.
