12/27/13 The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department has investigated thirteen burglary and theft cases in the Lake of the Woods area from January first of this year to December 26th.
Three of these cases have been burglaries with one of them being solved and the other two are still open investigations.
One case is an auto theft and that case has been closed by an arrest.
The remaining eight cases are thefts out of buildings and automobiles. Three of these cases have been closed by arrests and the five remaining cases are open investigations.
Items taken in these 13 burglaries and thefts include two portable generators, golf clubs, a camera, a car battery, fire wood, GPS units, sun-glasses, fishing equipment, a stereo taken out of the vehicle, a Troy Built push lawnmower and a flashlight.
