02/19/13 RW Armstrong appeared before the Marshall County Drainage Board Monday to have the US 31 and 7th Road Drainage Plan reviewed.  Howard Berberick presented the hydraulic report which includes seven ponds in and around the interchange.

Details of the plan shows storm water runoff that will go into the ponds and then into either the Zimmer Ditch or the Yellow River drainage system.  A couple of property owners in the area were on hand to look at the detailed drawings concerned with the effects on their current drainage systems.

County Surveyor Larry Fisher said the plan meets and of the County’s ordinance standards.

A motion was made to approve the drainage plan for the 7th Road and US 31 interchange.  A second motion was made to have INDOT and RW Armstrong address concerns of property owners who currently have drainage tile in the area.

Berberick told the Drainage Board that this project should go to bid in October and estimated project cost for construction is $9 million.
