07/26/13 Plymouth Fire Investigator John Pasley has released his report for last Friday’s fire at Jellystone Campground.

Firefighters were dispatched to lot 1382 for a fully engulfed travel trailer.  It took firefighters just five minutes to bring the blaze under control.

During the investigation Firefighter Pasley learned that the owners, a senior couple from Valparaiso had been at the trailer Friday morning and did some cleaning.  The odor from the cleaning product was strong so the owners opened the windows and left for a while.  They returned and a while later and decided to light a scented candle to help with the order.

The homeowner decided to head back to Valparaiso so they closed up the trailer and are unsure if they left the candle lit or not.

The cause of the fire is undetermined although the origin of the fire has been determined to be the kitchen.

The 2004 Dutchman Classic Trailer was a total loss and valued at $15,000.
